Be Careful Around Turtles....

I know...I've been a total blog slacker..... And the only reason I've come back here again is to show some pictures of another Hawaii trip we took with our friends the Denny's the end of July. They keep tempting us - asking to have us tag along with them and share their timeshare! We went to the Big Island and had a great time, as always. We get along so great. Dan has a diving buddy and Margaret and I have fun snorkeling.

Diver Dan was a happy man this trip. He had fun doing a lot of shore dives and saw a shark and found a HUGE conch shell. It still had it's inhabitant inside so Dan took it back to it's home. But Dan won't be bringing his diving weight belt next time. The extra weight charge with the airlines will kill ya! Our favorite beach was Hapuna. Tons of sand and a nice rock outcropping for me to hide behind! There goes Dan and Russ hauling our stuff down to the beach....

So you see this turtle??? See those rocks right next to him? Yeah...I walked over there on the rock to get a better look on the last day of our vacation and slipped, landed on my right hand and thought for sure I had broken it. Boy, I've never seen a hand swell up so fast! Had to spend the afternoon at the hospital and got a nice cast to wear home. Turned out my bones were intact, but the muscles and tendons weren't. So, I'm healing up and wearing a nice hand brace. Nice souvineer, eh? One day I'll be able to use my thumb again...*sigh*.

It was a great trip though. Gotta love Hawaii, smashed hand and all...
